Kasia and Nick Podilsky

To say that Kasia and Nick love Ukrainian dancing would not do their passion justice. They have been Ukrainian dancers for 25 years, and are proud to have spent the last decade as Cheremosh Ukrainian Dance Company members. It was during their performing tour of Australia with Cheremosh that led to their engagement, and in June 2022 they finally tied the knot!

Kasia began teaching dance as a substitute throughout the province, and after receiving her Top 30 Under 30 award from the Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts, she became a primary instructor for the Cheremosh School of Dance at their Beverly Studio. Shortly after, she became an instructor for Fort McMurray’s Avrora Ukrainian Dancers and is happy to say they are still her absolute favourite group to teach (despite the thousands of miles of driving it takes!). She also taught at Parkland Ukrainian Dance Society last year, forming new friendships and fond memories.

Nick currently teaches at the Cheremosh School of Dance as a primary instructor of the Beverly Recreation Studio, and assists Mykola Kanevets with the Cheremosh Academy students. He is also a substitute instructor for other Alberta Ukrainian dance schools, and has enjoyed his time subbing at Avrora in the past!

Both Kasia and Nick Podilsky are absolutely thrilled to move into their new role as Avrora’s new Co-Artistic Directors and are looking forward to this exciting upcoming year!
