Our Mission

To provide Fort McMurray dancers with world-class Ukrainian dance education, community outreach & performance opportunities while learning about Ukrainian culture and enjoying dance.

Boys and girls, ages 3 to adult, are welcome to join in weekly dance classes. We also perform at exciting competitions and dance at various local events.

The Fort McMurray Ukrainian Cultural Society and Avrora Dancers started in 1979 and we are celebrating 40 years of helping provide members the opportunity to learn about Ukrainian culture through dance. Superb instructors help dancers learn the quick and exciting dance steps and interesting customs from various regions in the Ukraine.

Organizational Structure

Our society and dance group are proudly run by dedicated volunteers. We encourage all our members to contribute their skills, talents, expertise, and passion to help us thrive. The Ukrainian Cultural Society and the Fort McMurray Avrora Ukrainian Dancers are managed by an executive team, which includes an elected President, two Vice Presidents, a Secretary, and a Treasurer. Every family with a dancer is a member of the Ukrainian Cultural Society, along with members of the general public who participate in our cultural events. The executive team is actively involved in decision-making and ensures that plans are carried out effectively with the support of our members.
